How I Researched End Times Prophecy, Hebrew, and Survival Skills for One Book

4 min read · By Christbearing Warrior

Writing Surviving the Antichrist required two entirely different kinds of research. The fiction demanded theological precision. The survival guide demanded practical accuracy. Both had to be right, because a reader trusting this book with their understanding of prophecy or their physical survival deserves nothing less.

The Theological Research

The foundation of the novel is scripture. Every prophetic event in the book corresponds to passages in Revelation, Daniel, Ezekiel, Isaiah, Zechariah, Joel, and the Gospels.

But reading these passages in English isn't enough. Translations are interpretations, and sometimes the original language reveals things the English obscures. So I went deeper.

When Daniel describes the feet of iron and clay, what do those words mean in the original Aramaic? When Revelation describes the mark of the Beast, what does the Greek tell us about in versus on? When Jesus describes the signs of the end in Matthew 24, what nuances does the Greek carry that the KJV smooths over?

This kind of research doesn't happen in an afternoon. It happens over years. Layer by layer, passage by passage, building a framework that's strong enough to support a 40-chapter novel without buckling under theological scrutiny.

I also studied the early church fathers — what did the ancient Christians believe about the Antichrist? About Babylon? About the sequence of end-times events? Their perspective, being closer to the original apostles, carries weight. Their belief that the Antichrist would be of Syrian descent, for example, informed my characterization.

The Survival Research

The fifteen-chapter survival guide had to be practical and accurate. I researched water purification methods — from primitive tree-branch filtering to modern portable systems. I studied shelter construction — underground bunkers, cave selection, concealment techniques. I looked into food production in harsh conditions — container gardening, seed saving, foraging, and growing in contaminated soil.

I also researched surveillance evasion. In the Tribulation, the Beast's system will use technology to track and control the population. Understanding how modern surveillance works — facial recognition, digital tracking, biometric identification — was essential to writing realistic guidance on avoiding it.

Not all of this came from books. Some came from personal experience with practical skills. Some came from conversations with people who know more than I do about specific topics. And some came from the simple willingness to test things — to try filtering water through a branch and see what happens.

How AI Helped

AI was a research tool, not a replacement for research. I used it to draft, iterate, and manage the massive scope of the project. But every factual claim was verified against primary sources. Every theological position was grounded in scripture. Every survival technique was cross-referenced against established knowledge.

AI helped me work faster. It didn't do the thinking for me. The interpretations, the convictions, the theological framework — those came from years of study and prayer. AI was the nail gun. I was the carpenter.

The Result

Four years of accumulated research. Thousands of hours across theology, survival skills, history, geopolitics, and technology. All of it compressed into 500+ pages that a reader can hold in one hand.

My prayer is that the research holds — that when readers check my claims against scripture, they find accuracy. And when they test my survival methods, they find them practical.

I built this book the way I'd build a house: foundation first, then framework, then walls, then roof. Every piece measured. Every joint tested. Every load calculated.

It's standing. And I believe it'll hold.
